When I look a Project 3 (room) I feel proud mostly and happy to have had the opportunity to work with something in the style of Art Deco. I have moved around a lot in my life. As a child my mother just liked to move, almost every year and now I am a military wife, so moving every 2-3 years is part of my adult life. What that means for me is that home is wherever my husband, our children and myself can come together. The dining room is where we spend the most time together.

 

I worked a lot with freeform gradients for project 4 (self portrait). I wanted to really work with the ethereal lighting that you see with Art Nouveau portraits and the color gradients that you see in the draping fabric found in those images. I feel like the two biggest changes that I've noticed in myself since beginning this course are a boost of confidence in my ability to create something and also that I am more organized than I was before which makes me feel more inspired.
